My Last Month of Pregnancy....

Ok so I fell off the blog wagon in my last trimester of pregnancy. I was slammed at work and trying to get things ready for Aiden's big arrival. So unfortunately there was just no time for blogging. Now that the little man is here and we are slowly settling into a routine I'm hoping to have a little more time on my hands to blog... starting with the oldest news first! :) So here it goes, here's a quick recap of my final month of pregnancy!

How far along are you? In the below pictures I was 36, 37, 38 and 39 weeks pregnant
Total Weight Gain? I stayed pretty consistent towards the end of the pregnancy. When all was said and done I gained about 20lbs total. Although towards the end it felt like soooo much more! It's amazing how heavy a 6 pound baby can feel!
Maternity Clothes? Towards the end of the pregnancy I was really struggling with clothes. Even some maternity pants felt like they were pinching and pushing in all the wrong places. So I wore as many maxi dresses and other comfy clothes as possible!
Stretch Marks? Ugh... I really thought I had avoided stretch marks... I thought I was lucky... well that is until Aiden "dropped." I guess the added pressure and weight was too much for the stomach to handle so yes I definitely walked away from this pregnancy with some stretch marks... I'm just praying they fade away eventually!
Sleep? Wow sleep during my last trimester was hard to come by! It definitely trained me for the sleep deprivation of having a child! Towards the end I was just so incredibly uncomfortable that it made it so difficult to sleep. Oh well, at least it gave me a taste of parenthood!
Miss Anything? In those last few months I think I missed absolutely everything! Lol. Mostly sleep and just being comfortable in my own body.
Movement? Tons... Aiden was an active little man until the very end. He was a kicker and a stretcher. Watching him now I wonder how its even possible that he was once doing that inside me!
Food Cravings? Amazingly I never got any crazy cravings. And towards the end I even lost my obsession with oranges. Oh I guess I continued to really love ice cream.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope! So thankful that I didn't have to deal with that.
Labor Signs? I never had any labor signs until after I was admitted to the hospital. At my 39 week appointment I had slightly elevated blood pressure so my doctor decided to induce me on Aiden's due date March 30th. So we had a nice calm drive to the hospital with no sign of labor until we were already there.I'll do another post on Aiden's birthday here soon!
Belly Button in or out? I think my belly button "popped" in the last month or so of pregnancy. And it wasn't quite as strange as I thought it was going to be lol.
Wedding rings on or off? Sadly I had to take them off for about the last month. My hands were much too swollen to keep them on anymore.
Happy or moody most the time? I guess I was a little bit more moody. The last month of pregnancy was definitely hard, not necessarily because of the weight or anything but because I was slammed at work. It just made it hard to focus on all the upcoming excitement with so much going on at work. It just wasn't how I imagined the final month of pregnancy, but I guess it's never really what you imagine. :)
Looking Forward to? At the end I was just so excited to meet our little man! Oh and sleep comfortably!

Here's a few pictures of my last month of pregnancy.

36 weeks... I think this was the last time I felt like I looked like myself! :)

37 Weeks, I was so excited to be full term!

38 weeks fell on my 29th Birthday!

39.8 Weeks pregnant, we went to the hospital the next night and met Aiden that morning!

Aiden's Nursery- The Finished Product!

Ok so I'm behind in blogging... Yes I know that's an understatement! I'm really really behind! But I'm about to make up for it with lots of posts. Here's what I have planned:
  • Aiden's Finished Nursery
  • A status update on what we've been up to this last trimester
  • A couple baby bump posts (just because I didn't blog doesn't mean I wasn't keeping track!)
  • And by then Mr.Aiden should be here so that means so much to blog about!!
So to kick it off here is the finished nursery!!! And I have to say I am still amazed! I love this room! It exceeded all my expectations! I love to just sit in here and think about our little man. I can't wait for Aiden to enjoy it and I'm beyond thankful for all the hard work Adam put into this. My poor hubby literally put his blood and sweat into this room. And we are so blessed to have so many incredible people in our lives that contributed bits and pieces to this room. Everywhere we look we see something that someone dear to us gave to Aiden. And we couldn't be more thankful Anyway here it is! Enjoy!

xoxo, Jamie

28 Weeks... at 29 Weeks!

Happy New Year Family & Friends! I know I'm a little late in saying that... Ok 14 days late but who's counting? Adam and I managed to update the Baby Bump Board and take a picture of me ON TIME this week... I then failed to post it for a week. So here's a little update on week 28... even though I'm now 29 weeks pregnant.

I really just cant believe how fast the time is going! We had my 28 week appointment last week on the 9th (also my parents 31st Wedding Anniversary!) And things are looking really good. Baby bump is measuring right on track, Aiden's heartbeat is steady in the 150s and all my stats are good. Now we have appointments every 2 WEEKS! I cant believe we're at that point already. Time really does fly. For my 30 week appointment we get to have one last look at little Aiden before his big arrival. Our doctor signed us up for a 3D Ultrasound and I really couldn't be more excited! I cant wait to see the face of the little man that seems to be brushing up on his karate in my belly! I'll be sure to share pictures here once we get them! Anyway here are a few pictures of me at 28 weeks and a little update on how things are going in the THIRD TRIMESTER!

28 Weeks... Aiden is REALLY sticking out there! And getting quite heavy!

28 weeks with a huge belly and a very sore back!

Adam's beautiful artwork.

How far along are you? In the pictures... exactly 28 weeks. Today 29 weeks, 2 days

Baby Stats: Aiden is about the size of a Squash weight: 2.5-3.8 lbs, length 15-17 in.
Total Weight Gain? Thanks to the holidays I'm now at + 12lbs! But the doctor said I'm still on the small side, that just caught me up a bit. P.S. I DO NOT feel like I'm on the small side... I feel HUGE!
Maternity Clothes? I think I officially need more... the normal clothes I could wear are stretched to capacity so I should probably invest in a few more things to get me through the next 3 months.
Stretch Marks? Not that I can see...
Sleep? Ugh I'll go ahead and say it's gotten horrible... between waking up for no reason and waking up to pee and waking up with hip or back pain, I'm not getting much sleep these days. I know it's preparing me to be a mother but it's also starting to wear on me a bit. I need more sleep!
Best moment this week? Seeing my cousin Mario for the first time since Adam and I's wedding and meeting his family! We didn't get nearly enough time with them but it was great to spend an evening with them and get to know Heather and baby Leo! I love my nieces and have a blast playing with them, but it was a lot of fun hanging out with a baby boy for a change! Leo is 7 months old and such a little sweetie. It really got me thinking about what our little boy will be like!
Miss Anything? SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP! Really missing my sleep... and laying on my stomach. I didnt notice it much until now but it's so much easier to just flop down on your tummy then lay on your back or side. I hate not being able to do that. Also I'm missing a glass of wine or a margarita or anything really after a tough stressful day. We've had a few of those lately and just one glass of wine would have been nice. Oh well though! Just a few more months and Aiden is worth it.
Movement? Tons... he is big enough now that I can feel him all over, not just in one little spot. In the morning I feel like he's really crowding my lungs (I get out of breath SUPER easy these days) and in the evening he seems to like to settle way down low... when people talk about the baby "dropping" I have a really tough time imagining how much further he can drop!
Food Cravings? Still not craving much. And I'm starting to feel like their isn't much room for food so I have to remind myself to eat.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!
Gender? Boy, still loving all the fun boy stuff. I went to Hobby Lobby Saturday and had a blast finding decorations for Aiden's room. Love all the vintage sports decor! Now to narrow down what we really need!
Labor Signs? Nope
Belly Button in or out? In... but barely.
Wedding rings on or off? Still on but in the evenings my hands have started getting really puffy so I have to take them off earlier than normal.
Happy or moody most the time? I'm still fairly happy most the time. But I would be lying if I didn't say that the last week or so has been more difficult. I don't know if it's pregnancy hormones, the cold weather, the start of a new year, the lack of sleep or just a combination of all of the above, but I have been way more emotional than I can ever remember being. I cry much easier, I'm stressed when I shouldn't be, I get annoyed far too easily. I'm not nearly the strong, secure person that I'm use to being. And I HATE it. I know this is a bit of soapbox but I guess I feel like if I can't be honest here where can I? And I think it's important to share that even someone who usually prides them self on their strength and level head can breakdown when it all gets to be a bit much. Or when the crazy hormones kick in! So for now I'm just taking things a day at a time and calming myself with deep breaths and the reminder that I'll get to meet my baby boy soon!
Looking Forward to? My 30 week ultrasound next week! Can't wait to see our baby boy! And baby showers! It's finally time to get excited about baby showers! Cant wait to celebrate this little boy with family and friends!

Aiden's Nursery Part 1

I am so so excited to share what our little Aiden's nursery looks like! We've had visions of this room long before we found out we were pregnant and once we found out we were having a boy our baseball/sports brains went into hyper drive! It's been quite the process but I finally feel like we are at a good point to share our progress. We still have lots of decorating to do and everything in the room is pretty much empty but we have the construction process and large furniture pieces in place.

I have to admit I get VERY little credit for this room. Although I helped with the vision, the decorating choices and color schemes this room is truly a product of my husbands incredible talent and hard work. I know I brag about his ability to turn my harebrained schemes into reality all the time but this nursery brought it to a whole new level. I never dreamed our little man would be lucky enough to have an incredible nursery like this! I also have to say this room would never have happened if it weren't for our generous families and their help with buying some of the furniture items and Lowes Gift Cards! Aiden is so blessed to have so many people looking out for him already.

Ok, Ok enough already here are the pictures you really want to see! Lots of them! Enjoy and come back soon for more updates as we start to fill up the little man's room!

I failed to get a picture of the room before when it was simply a guest room, but you get the gist of it here... it was boring and beige.

The first step was painting the "baseball wall." Here's Adam painting the wall an off white color.

More painting while I annoy him with pictures.

Next step painting the bottom of the other walls blue. We fell in love with this color, unfortunately the pictures don't really do it justice.

Half blue walls before adding the chair rail.

Adding the detail to the baseball wall! I saw a picture of something similar a while back. I had NO idea how to do it but I knew Adam could make it happen!

Working on the baseball "stitching."

Adam ended up using a sponge to create the stitches so they would all be the same size.

More annoying him with pictures!

A look at the construction zone almost finished!

Baseball wall! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Adam the perfectionist says it needs some touch-ups, but I'm pretty impressed!

A view of the wall and closet.

Baseball wall and window.

Beautiful blue walls with chair rail and Aiden's beautiful dresser from Babies R Us!

Adam putting together the crib! We ended up picking the Baby Cache, Montana set for the furniture.

We read reviews that said it took about 45 minutes to put together the crib... Adam had to beat that time. I think it took him about 15 minutes... pretty impressive show off! ;)

The dogs already LOVE the nursery, they were so excited to be allowed in!

A picture of the very little work I did... scratching off the stupid warning stickers that baby companies plaster ALL OVER their furniture!

And a finished view of Aiden's room! Paint, construction and furniture done!

Aiden's room with a glimpse of the closet that Adam put together.

I just can't believe how good it all looks!

Looking inside the closet. Little man needed more storage that was better for  baby clothes.

Plenty of storage for all Aiden's stuff!

Plenty of storage for all Aiden's stuff!

We don't have many decorations yet but here's a look at the bedding.

And our newest addition... a bit of a splurge but we wanted a really comfy chair in Aiden's room. We know that's where we'll be spending LOTS of time!

Another view of the crib and chair.

Our awesome chair that reclines, swivels and of course rocks. The baseball blanket I bought way before we knew Baby A was a boy... I knew we we're having a boy! And I figured if by chance it was a girl she would like baseball too. We cant wait to wrap our little man up in this blanket for some newborn pictures!

And lastly a picture of one of the many projects we have left. This old set of dresser stairs is in need of some TLC! They have drawers too that aren't in the picture.  I fell in love with this beauty years ago in my Papa &  Nana's barn, I always knew it had to go in my babies room one day! They were handmade and painted by my Great Grandpa, Ross Wesley Cooper (this side of the family also contributed to Aiden's middle name!) Cant wait to see them painted and looking brand new in Aiden's room.
