I swear I'm still alive... Oh and exciting news we got a new car! And a new niece! All in one day!

Ok so I'm afraid I have abandoned my blog lately... but with good reason. I was sick... and then I was busy... and then we were car shopping! So life got crazy and once again I am behind on blogging! BUT I'm back and I have lots of great news!

First I am an auntie again!!!! Adam's brother and sister-in-law had their second adorable baby girl last night! Clara Dianne was born at 11:49pm. She was 8 lbs 11 oz, 21.5 inches! And she is sooo adorable! Adam and I are going to see her tonight for the first time so I'm sure I will have plenty of  pictures to share, but for now here is the first picture we received via text last night.

This is Rhonda (doesn't she look amazing! She just had a baby and it's the middle of the night... and she's still gorgeous...) And the beautiful little miss Clara!
Don't you just love her already!?!?

In other news.... we got a new SUV last night! (What can I say it was a big night in the Alexander family!) We've been looking for a really long time. We've looked at a ton of cars online and knew exactly what we wanted, it was just a matter of finding it for a price we could afford. We finally found the car a few weeks ago in Colorado Springs, it was PERFECT... but sadly it was too expensive. So without a lot of hope we had my dad contact the dealership that was selling it (my dad has a relationship with one of the salesmen there and he is an expert car negotiator!) They were willing to make a deal but it was still too expensive. Fast forward a few weeks... countless phone calls with Reginald (the car salesman) and lots of negotiating back and forth, we receive a call from my dad and they have finally agreed on the price we wanted! The price we could afford! After taking a look at the financing, talking to our insurance agent, and estimating what we would pay in gas... we finally came to the realization that this could actually work! One little problem... we had never actually driven the car... So we got off work a little early, "flew" down to Colorado Springs and test drove the car. It was LOVE at first site! We loved how the car drove, we loved the color, we loved all the features, we loved, loved, loved it!!!! So after a long wait at the dealership and a few signatures we owned our very own GMC Acadia! I squealed, I jumped and I think I said "It's SO PRETTY" about a hundred times! So anyway... here it is... our "perfect" car!!!

LOVE the black, exactly what we wanted!

Lots of space to grow into... one day... eventually... NOT YET!
Shinny beautiful dashboard, and NAV!!! We never thought we'd actually get NAV!
Ummm hello double sunroofs! Love!

So that's it... all my exciting news! Check back in for more pictures of the beautiful Clara and a little bit more of what we've been up to lately! And since it's been so long here are a few quotes!

Halfway Through September Already??

How are we halfway through September already???!!! This month is seriously flying by! And once again life is busy, filled with a work retreat to Vail, Zac Brown Band Concert, and a disastrous Monday night Bronco's football game! So in short I've been busy, but I'm still working on my organization project and I promise to have a post on that soon as well as a whole lot of other goodness. In the meantime here is a little bit of quote love for your Tuesday. Have a great day!

Saying Goodbye to Summer

I am soooo looking forward to this nice three day weekend, but it’s a little bit of a bummer too. Why? Because Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. :( I’ve had an awesome summer and I’m just not quite ready to part with it! Driving to work this morning it was a bit foggy and gloomy. I just don’t think I’m ready for gloomy days, extremely cold nights and eventually… snow… ugh snow. Not just yet, I just need a few more weeks of sunshine and warm nights…. Please? No?

Anyway to celebrate the end of summer I thought I would take a look at the many many things that the husband and I did this summer!

Went to Rockies Opening Day!!

Went to Saint Louis for my first official work trip! Met a new friend and went to the top of the famous Arch!

Partied with YCP & Della on the rooftop at Lodo’s to raise money for The Women’s Crisis Center.

Celebrated the wedding of two wonderful people, Congrats Rachel & Phil!

Bought a canoe and strapped it on top of our truck.

More Rockies games...

Celebrated 4th of July at a Rockies Game....

and in Brush!

Field Day with great friends at Washpark.

Toured the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and went to The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Celebrated our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary with a Staycation in Downtown Denver.

Camped at Meadow Creek Reservoir

Went Hiking in Roxborough Park

And a whole lot of other amazingness. What was your favorite part of this summer?
