YCP Empty Mug and Patio Concert

Happy Friday Everyone!!! I for one am THRILLED that the weekend is almost here! This has been a great week, full of lots of fun and exciting things! But it has also been quite an exhausting week! Lots of late nights, cocktails, good friends and laughter equal one very very tired Jamie! But at least it’s a good tired! :)

Anyway this Wednesday I had the opportunity to attend another amazing YCP, Empty Mug event. Now for those of you who aren’t familiar with YCP let me fill you in on what they are all about and how this group became a part of my life. YCP stands for Young Citizens of Philanthropy; they are a nonprofit group that "works with The Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center to provide awareness and bring an end to Domestic Violence.” (I took this straight off one of their fliers, trying to be exact here!) SO basically they are a group of young professionals, with big hearts, that want to make a difference, help The Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center, and have a good time while they do it!

Now how did I get involved with this? Well it’s not really me but Adam (and like any totally amazing spouse I am supportive of what he is passionate about. Well at least I try to be...) Adam works for a great local commercial construction company and they just so happened to build The Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center and a great relationship was formed between the two companies /groups. So when Adam had the opportunity to join the YCP board he jumped at the chance. Now I tease about the whole supportive wife role but I honestly think getting involved in the things your spouse is passionate about helps to build a great relationship. And I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know the other members of YCP and attending their numerous events.

Every month they put together an event called the Empty Mug to raise money and awareness and each time they just seem to get better and better. June’s Empty Mug took place on the roof top patio at LoDo’s Downtown and with the help of a local band Della the evening was a blast! I mean honestly what’s better than awesome live music, great people, yummy food and drinks, and a gorgeous Colorado summer day!?!? Oh that’s right doing it all for a good cause. Ok so this might come across a little corny but frankly I feel privileged to be a small part of such a good group of people.

Check out some pics (courtesy of my IPhone, sorry for the quality!) from the Empty Mug below and if you are interested in more information about YCP or the Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center you can find it here http://www.twcfoc.org/ycp.html or on Facebook.

Have a safe and happy weekend!

Xoxo ~Jamie
